  Big, juicy and nicely bold. Blackberry, sage and mint nose. Some minerality. Medium tannins. Slightly cherry. Lovely with pasta.

  30 minute decant. With mushroom pizza. Good earthy notes to the nose. Sneaking hints of cherries. Surprising fruitiness overall. Blackberries, currant and some tart cherries. Paired well with the oregano dominant pizza. But not bad on its own after. Definitely improved since the last tasting.

  Muscular masculine style. With a little air it came together a bit - loads of licorice, tobacco, some floral elements, spices. Eventually some dark dark dark black berry flavors. This was a very deep style of chianti classico. Enjoyable, though. Should have a good longevity but I can't imagine it having better fruit with age, which is what was lacking a bit for me.

  PnP and then let linger. Deep thick color, not quite opaque. Initial nose is earthy with a hint of sulfur, mint, overripe plums and smoke. Thick and jammy on first taste. The smoke comes through on the tongue as well. Not particularly complex but not completely simple. Medium if unbalanced tannins in the close. Nice everyday chianti. Gets slightly less interesting as it opens up.
