  • At first there were unexpectedly meaty aromas. Usually I like that but here it was offensive. Then some dark raspberry type flavours came through. My hopes were lifted. On the palate it was smooth but with no real flavour, seeming somewhat hollow. This lead onto some very supple, ever so slightly peppery tannins with a hint of minerality. Later on I chilled this and it gave the wine more body and grip, though the chilling completely threw it out of balance. The shy fruit totally vanished, overpowered by tannins I had written off as weedy. Overall the vibe I got was of a dilute, lean, bland wine.

  • Deep ruby red this 100% Cabernet Franc bottling. The nose is musty. Pallette, dry, salty and slightly bitter with notes of leather--full bodied. Thick tannins. Tasted without food. Not a good value at $18.
