Community Tasting Notes (10) Avg Score: 89 points

  • 5/6, very good cork. Decanted 1/2 hr.
Md/dp garnet/mahogany core, pale rim. Quite a lot of "stuff" floating around in it. A touch reticent but slowly opening to reveal spicy, sour red cherry, leather. Medium bodied, graceful, savoury, resolved tannins, red fruit, leather, spice, vibrant acids then a medium/good length harmonious finish. Graceful, last bottle in next 2 years.

  • Slow-oxed for 9 hours upon serving into Sy glass (“Root” into “Flower” day): Pale garnet to the eyes.

Savoury red cherries and prunes. Good selection of spices.

More weight than the Le Chiuse 2010 tasted alongside but still great style to have in my view.

    93 points.

Second round: lots more leafy and floral spices.

  • 4/6, very good cork. Decanted and served.
Cloudy appearance, medium garnet, pale garnet/mahogany rim. Fragrant nose, spicy/sour red cherry, spice, touch of liquorice. Medium bodied with bright, spicy red fruit, touch of liquorice, very fine tannins, vibrant, tangy acidity. Quite linear but with a sneaky length. Classic. Ready, mature, very good indeed.

  • 2/6. Medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. On the nose this has bright, mainly red cherry fruit, spice, touch of earth and blood. Unadorned, lovely. Not much more than medium bodied, spicy red cherry fruit, touch of earth, fine yet grippy tannins, lovely vibrant acidity, good depth of fruit and a very good length spicy finish. Superb rosso, drinking beautifully.
