OBTN - Decanted for 90 minutes - but may have been just fine with pop and pour. Was excited to try this after cellaring since release. AR only made one barrel of this and was all sold as magnums. From a very cool climate parcel in the Vare Vineyard - whole cluster basket fermented and pressed to neutral oak for one year and only 12.2% ABV. The nose was more on the restrained side, no barnyard or oak just red fruits. On the palate this is very soft and well integrated, no harsh tannins, red fruits and some brambly herbal or bell pepper qualities, with a good level of acidity. Very easy drinking and enjoyable now, but I will keep my remaining two bottles to see how they continue to evolve.

(A-) Right in my wheelhouse. Tons and tons of acid. Even a whole day or air didn't bring it all together. But the fruit is beautiful. Delicate, a touch tart even. Cherry and a touch of cranberry. Delicate greenery from the whole cluster. It's not ready yet, but you can tell it will be fun when it comes together. Hold.

(A-R open house) Far and away the leanest and perhaps the most structured of the three Cabernets in my opinion. More herbal in character, or is it tobacco leaf? Neutral oak and low alcohol are hardly perceptible.

Small production (1 barrel) 100% whole cluster ferment, neutral oak, from cooler eastern facing slope of Mt Veeder, 12.3 abv. Intoxicating nose of green pepper, olive and red currant medium red and black fruited palate and mouth stripping tannins. A real bargain at $80 per 1.5L. Nose similar to the Clary Ranch Syrah. Very interesting Cab.

(From a tasting at Chambers St Wines) Just a small taste of this, high quality material, fuller than the two Syrahs but still in the same lean style. This has a bit more fruit and tannic structure, some time in the bottle might do this some good. Worth trying.
