Still tasting really good right now !! A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This balanced wine showed more fresh fruit on the first day and on day it had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with modest oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of black cherry cola, raspberry with a hint of dark chocolate. This Pinot Noir has a medium finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir with firm acidity from Elsbree Family Vineyard consisting of a field blend of about 20 clones on multiple rootstocks farmed by Chuck Elsbree in the Russian River Valley appellation. This age worthy wine may have more life remaining. I still have two bottles of this vintage remaining in the cellar and will drink soon to validate this tasting note. Great fruit selection and a great winemaking effort by Ben Papapietro.

Bright ruby color, still intense after 9 years in the bottle. Raspberry and cranberry fruit up front, but then things went downhill. Tartness takes over and a bit astringent. Let it sit overnight and it didn't mellow. Perhaps on the verge of going bad? But the front end was so promising.

This bottle was getting a little tired, not as enjoyable, and near the end of life. I have one more to taste soon to verify.
