Beautiful dark purple color, but its all down hill from there. The nose hinted at being maderized (think Charles Shaw on steroids). I still attempted to drink, always up for a challenge. The wine was separated, completely unbalanced, hot aftertaste of alcohol, candied. I could only muster two sips, each bitterly acidic and tasted more like welches grape juice with vodka than wine. So I have a receipt, hope costco takes wine returns and hopefully they move the wine selection away from the bakery soon... ugh.

color: purple velvet; nose: mild oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, bright blackberry taste (rounded and lots of fruit), medium-length finish consisting of tobacco, cocoa, and pepper along with good tannins; overall: modern fruity, authentic pour, outstanding QPR ($9 -- are you kidding?), fine antidote to merlot jokes and great by itself and/or paired with grilled mushrooms or burgers.

Still quite good as a Merlot goes. I still believe good throughout 2015.
