  • Had with a filet of cod dinner. We read the other reviews, but evidently, our particular bottle must have come from a superior barrel. Four of us thought it was quite good, very smooth, and nice finish. One person remarked that they could drink this w/o food.

  • - Crimsom color with slow forming legs and aromas of acetic acid and raspberry. It's overly acidic and has flavours of cherry and chocolate with a medium body. Coarse texture with a short finish - This is an o.k. table wine to pair with pasta and meat sauce. No pretension to anything more. Too coarse to drink as a sipping wine.

  • Enjoyed at the JD Sunday get together. I wanted so badly to like this wine, but even after 8 hours of decanting it just didn't do it. Uncorked to a rather intact cork. Decanted for about an hour and enjoyed first. Poured a medium bodied ruby red into the glass. The nose was floral and unripe red berry. The palate was like a chocolate covered strawberry up front ad then settled to a little bit of a red cherry and BARELY ripened red raspberry. Acidity was noticeable, but wasn't "in your face." I really do think that 1-2 years of holding this wine might increase its maturity a bit, but I think that would probably be treading you in some rather shallow water because I just don't think it has the backbone to last more than 1-2 years either. Drink now, but might not be a bad idea to at least decant 20-30 minutes before enjoying.

  • - Ruby color. It's unbalanced with a light/medium body. Angular texture - Italian grapes are acidic. Period. If you open this one to drink without food, it will hit the stomach. My mistake. Not casual drinking wine. This needs food to go with. Ok red fruit flavours, low tannins but high acid. Reasonable intensity and medium length finish.
