Maybe a suggestion of VA here... But in our group this wine was more well-liked than I anticipated. Lovely texture if a touch acidic. There's a savoury, black olive-esque side as well as some pretty fruit. The tannins have softened over the last year or two and I daresay this wine might last another five.

A lovely blend of something that is deep and brooding, while actually medium bodied and dances across the tongue. Deep dark fruits with an occasional bitter edge, but balanced by a syrup like concentrate minus the sugar. Beautiful perfume of olives, rust, black cherries in chocolate, and old leather float just above that fruit. This is backed by sharp acidity and unforgiving tannins, but they work in a way that just brings the perfect balance of intellectual appreciation and joy.

Quite enjoyed drinking this wine. The nose consists of some blasting aromas of ripe berries and sandalwood that lead you to expect abundant fruit in the palate which is unfortunately somewhat "subtle" and leaves a light bodied taste. I will agree with other tasters in that the acidity is a bit overwhelming which makes, in my opinion, this wine very hard to match with food.
So, overall a pleasant wine which is best drunk on its own and which would be magnificent if it had more fruit and less acidity.

12% abv. Purple, ruby edge. Opaque. Fantastic nose: dried flowers, dried cherries, smoke, sandalwood. Perfectly balanced, lithe, a little tart, long finish. This style of malbec is excellent.

Lots of acid, grippy tannins. Quite earthy, in a pretty way. Maybe lacking a bit of fruit but texturally a really compelling wine.
