Light ruby red. Classic cherry coke aromas with notes of spicy wood. Sweet blackcurrant and spicy white pepper on the palate, a little hollow in the middle, then spicy oak at the back of the throat.

When you open the bottle, this smells of barnyard and veggie broth. Leave it be for a while, and the oddness dissipates. This is a deliciously serious, acidic, complex Malbec. And yes, it's quite unlike Argentinian ones; not in the finish as much as in the initial attack. The middle keeps it from being a 90 on my scale, but otherwise a very good wine.

Pretty good, though some rotten egg reduction on the nose disturbs now and then. Otherwise there are nice celery stick, and violet aromatics, and crisp blackberry fruit and earthy agave flavors on the palate with lively acid. On day two it's gone completely vegetal and is not pleasurable to drink. Perhaps a drink now sort of wine.

This is definitely a 90 on the "interesting" scale. If you never smelled barnyard, here's your chance. Combine that with violets, what a nose! Nice mid weight, good integrated tannins. Beautiful vibrant purple color. Blackberries and flowers that last nicely. Maybe a little disjointed in the middle, but quite a wine. Completely different animal than southern hemi malbecs.

Really delicious. Deep soil, really dense yet weightless. Love this.
