Christie's BYOB Dinner (Formento's, Chicago, Illinois): Nose showing beefy notes, rusty metal, and wet dog. More clean on the palate and giving some pleasure, with a bit of acidity still giving some semblance of life. I didn't have a lot of time with this wine, as it had fallen apart by the time I went back to it, but the fact it was drinkable at all was a bonus in my book. Not scored.

Casual Wine Dinner with Christie's (Formento's - Chicago IL): Still vibrant and nicely alive with good combination of earth and very mature red cherry. Best when first poured, much less interesting an hour later.

Pretty good for a 36 year old village wine. Certainly mature, but by no means over the hill.
