Approachable now. Opened it after we drank a good New World Pinot noir and pleasantly found this a bit leaner—but just a bit. 2009 was uncharacteristically ripe in Burgundy and this represents its vintage. Good wine but teetering at the edge of ripeness, fulsome mid-palate, just a tad tannic or hot in the finish.

A darker deep red fruit profile of black cherry and strawberry intermingle with rose garden/briars scents, a bit of almond paste, iodine/blood type of savor. Richly fruited in the mouth but showing a bit of robust, unresolved tannins that make this a little hard for typical Chambolle right now. I would. Hold for at least another 5+ years to check in and probably more like 10+ to show more tertiary influence. Powerful right now for sure.

Good Chambolle even if perhaps a little bit past it’s prime.. Very tight and very Tanic On initial taste. Much more open and subtle two days later. A bouquet of cherry and a little bit of jammy strawberry and deep forest. Subtle tannins and réglisse in a wine with several layers in mouth, gentle structure and long finish.

Meh. Somewhat ripe and tannic even at 10yo. Lacks acidity to be in balance. Unexciting. Needs food.

Very good representation, a pleasure to drink and priced right for the quality. So far, Louis Jadot productions have never disappointed me!
