This is Laely Heron's newest wine that was mentioned in my local wine shop's e-mail newsletter. It is called "Sexto" because Heron wasn't satisfied with the wine until she added the sixth ingrediant. So, obviously, it is a blend of six grapes: Grenanche (60%), Carignan (30%), Tempranillo (20%), Lledoner Pelut Noir (6%), Cabernet (6%), and Syrah (5%). This wine has a medium ruby color. Black cherry nose. The flavor is of black cherry with perhaps a hint of licorice. It is a medium bodied wine. (Alcohol at 13.5%). Medium finish. Overall, this was a decent, kick back, casual wine for the price ($10.99). I thought it was a little one-dimensional and a little young and rough. The tannins had a tendency to overshadow the fruit. Perhaps, this wine may be better in another year.
