This is the oldest I've ever kept a bottle of Macchiona and it's still drinking beautifully now. Tastes more together now, although I don't mind drinking these younger too. Sadly it's my last bottle but if you have any left I'd be drinking them up this year or next. One of my all time favourite wines!!

last bottle a year ago, this is similar, deep black and red fruit, with great blending, all tannins pretty much resolved. Black fruit, like CS is moderated by the red higher acid red fruit. Lovely wine, deep and so flavorful.

1 hr decant. Was surprised to liking this as it's not my normal cup of tea. Heavy fruit but did have some spine showing the CF character which gave it a bit brighter edge. Still young with strong tannins (not wood it seems) so I'll give it more time to soften. This bottle had the largest sediment particles I've encountered in any wine. I"ll let my remaining bottles rest for a few more years.

This is 2nd bottle drank recently and while an improvement on the first I have this as past its 'sell by' date.Tastes of farmyard, sloes and wild yeast. I note the ratings and 'distinctive' comments but also note other site comments on the blend being best drank within a few years of release.
Have another bottle and happily give it away!!!

Ripe nose of amaretto, dates, saddle leather, and vanilla latte. Full bodied, robust. Rich amaretto palate, totally Italian, and it hides the 15% alcohol well. The tannins make their presence known, but are softer than I expected. This is addictive. Drinking well, but no rush.
