Double decanted, but best to keep in a decanter for 30min to get rid of cellar must. A mind-blowing intensity. Hazy and milky color. Fascinating how present signature notes of charcoal and rose water still were. Fruit profile of cherry and red berries. Aging notes of mushroom and earth. Meanwhile still precise floral top notes. A juicy palate, plenty of beautiful tertiary notes and strong in character. Structured yet soft and smooth palate. More bright red berry fruit. Balanced with great length.

Short decant. Beautiful nose with fragrant floral and menthol to start. This is fantastic wine. Licorice, earth, tobacco, faint cherry and menthol. Sweet finish. These flavor notes don’t do it justice - this was all integrated into a balanced whole that was so good. This will hold at this level for a while.

Pnp. Very floral and sweet with good softness. It has flowers, sweet red fruit, soil, graphite, and some secondary character. Its very elegant. Drinking so well.

Cherry and strawberry fruit on the slightly lifted nose with chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, florals, mushroomy earth and vegetals. Medium to fullbodied and refreshingly structured dry palate with lively raspberry, strawberry and ripe cranberry fruit as well as more figgy dried fruit and notes of rosehips, graphite and salt liquorice.Good length. Very nice and though obviously pretty aged, I think this has plenty of years left. Very nice indeed!

Antonio Vallana Vertical: 2010-1954 (Del Posto Restaurant, NYC): Muted nose but the palate is gorgeously sweet and complex. Would love to follow it over the evening, but I got a short pour.
