  Wow - plenty of pop and generous active mousse that persisted. Deep garnet colour, plums blackberries liquorice. Long finish with leather and tar on mildly syrupy note.

  It‘s Christmas and this is the perfect Christmas Eve bottle. Much more developed than before. Nice fruit showing more sweetness than before, great length and still strong tannin structure. Starts making fun!

  This is Xmas in a bottle. Such an expressive and impressive wine. While this is still fairly primary, it’s gained complexity since last bottle 5-6 years back. See my previous note - it’s now all of that and more. Has a lovely rich and creaminess about it. Feels a shade sweeter than I recall last time, maybe some variance in dosage? But that’s being picky. A real shame I’ve only got one ‘04 left.
