Golden colour appearance, with ripe citruses, a touch of honey. Nice fuller bodied palate, consistent - throughout. This for me is textbook Alsace Riesling and at this stage of maturation is a delightful experience. 13%.

French road trip, mainly Rhône valley; 9/4/2022-9/18/2022: From 75cl, perfect cork, P+P in a restaurant. Beautiful burnished gold colour; expansive mature Riesling scent with just enough old barrel, petrol etc.; big-bodied entry with glorious zingy acidity and a layered texture, satisfying mid-palate, a little funky, but very serious indeed. Long ripe-citrus finish. Glorious wine, I must buy this more often and cellar it until maturity. 91P

I visited Porthmadog today and purchased mackerel, lemon sole, sea bass and cod cheeks from the fishmonger. These were served fried with courgettes and a sauce of butter, capers and garlic. Simple stuff and this wine was a great match, adding lift and substance along with the gentle aromas and flavours outlined above.
Really enjoyed this one!

Bright and yellow in the glass, slight whiff of honey and rubber. Starting to broaden on the palate now, but still focused with some weight too. Much more intesting at 10 years than when young. Agree with previous comments, it wants to be cool not cold. I get pear drops the slate followed by a rush of mouth watering acidity. Wish I had a other bottle to taste in a couple years time.

It’s got citrus, mostly grapefruit, it’s got honey, it’s got pear drops, it’s got a beautiful yellow straw colour and it’s got body.

This has evolved considerably since last tasting 6 years ago. Really nice honey notes, grapefruit/lime and bracing acidity. Great mouth feel.
