Smoke, caramel, some peat and salt are things that come to mind while tasting this whisky. It has something creamy as well. Soft but powerful, but the latter is logical since I'm a wine drinker. Overall a really nice and friendly whisky. For me 89.

pineapple hardrock candy, cantaloupe, stewed applespie crust with cinnamon, peat, and a touch of smoke on the nose. sweet smoked honeysuckle with a hint of spice on the palate. Thoroughly enjoyable

Between this and their 18, Highland Park has become perhaps my favorite non-peated Scotch producer. There is a layered complexity within this entry-level bottle that some Scotches fail to achieve at nearly twice the price. Sweet and rich on the nose. Butter, caramel, cream, honey and pastry on the palate, along with a slight tang and the faintest touch of smoke. A sophisticated dram.
