Filling in w/the Friday Brown Bag Group (Mike & Judi's): Deeper color than the first wine, this looks quite a bit older. Apple and cashew aromas. Flavors of cooked lemon curd, dough, crème brulee and stone. Just a little bit flat, preventing a higher score, but the flavors and complexity are quite nice.
(Old note) Extremely minerally nose. Oyster and roasted nuts. Good depth. Austere and medium-fullish palate. White chocolate, nuts, oysters. Very austere and serious. Painfully acidic. Can go on for years.
Light gold color. Aromas of toasted nuts, cooked oats, coconut, pear, caramel. Decent effervescence, but not its strong suit. It's rich for a chardonnay bubbly and in excellent drinking condition, at least for those like myself who like secondary characteristics. Much buttered toast in the mouth and a fat finish rather than a racy one. Bottle #3 three.
