CT Texas V - North Dallas Forty and then some; 5/3/2013-5/5/2013 (McKinney, North Dallas, TX): My first Madeira, therefore not scored. Utterly unique on the nose with a piercing aroma of nuts, Grand Marnier, caramel, honey, citrus peel. On the palate, salted caramel, candied orange peel, hazelnut, dried cherry, vanilla. Finishes with searing enamel melting acidity that actually works to balance the wine. Utterly unique, I understand now why these last forever.
