  Still going strong. Intoxicating spice on the nose carries through to the palate. Fruit makes a stand, but remains subordinate. Tannins resolved, excellent mouthfeel. Energetic and satisfying. Russell Bevan is the winemaker for this label now and receives predictable hosannas, but Ray Coursen, who made this wine, knew what he was doing.

  Rating very subjective with my taste issues, but beautiful rich aromas, dark, saturated, and polished.

  We enjoyed this excellent Napa Cabernet with a few other Napa Cabs, in a series of mini verticals. Next to the '07, this beautiful '08 wine showed fewer tannins, but still had excellent fruit. It had mild ruddiness on the edges, but still showed youthful color of deep hued purple and garnet. The nose was very satisfying, showing beautiful blue and black fruit, mild eucalyptus, soft cedar, and a touch of vanilla. The fruit across the palate matched the nose. This wine had a lovely, long finish. It was one of the group favorites on this night. It is showing quite well right now. I am not certain that it will improve at this point, but it should hold if stored properly. This wine provided an excellent tasting experience.

  Beautiful fruit remaining and structure. Just starting to show signs of more tertiary notes and the fruit is just at the start of giving way to them. It's in a good place right now if you enjoy that balance. If you prefer more fruit, drink now.

  Medium-full bodied Napa cab that is drinking really well right now. Has a beautiful, herbal bouquet that practically jumps right out of the glass. On the palette, expressive notes of black currant, cedar, toffee, and dark chocolate.
