A cabernet sauvignon I liked and probably WOTN. I’m sensitive to pyrazines and too often Bordeaux varieties taste green and smell like potato water or wet newspapers. It was quite elegant and polished. Dark fruit on the nose and dark raspberries and blackberries on the palate. Smooth on the attack and a nice, fat midpalate and a smooth finish. Still has years to go. Brought by Zach.
Great structure and in no way flabby over 3 days, but also struck me as not overpowering. Just a perfect balance.
Tastes were predominantly cherry with a touch of cedar planks and a hint of earthiness (a little like cooking mushrooms). Round well integrated tannins.
Very impressive for a bottle of wine with 18 years of age.

Cork was soft but in tact. Fill was good. Color however had plenty of bricking and orange. Wine was clearly on its way to vinegar. Down the drain it went. It was not really a flawed bottle in the TCA or bret way, but the cork was simply too soft and nearly fell into the bottle with the Ah-so, and I suspect some extra air got to this bottle to prematurely advance its age.
