  • Rich with dark flavors of blue fruit and spice. Tannins were well integrated. Drinking really well right now. Only have the one bottle, but wouldn't mind having more.

  • I don't share the same sentiment as everyone else. For an Aaron Pott wine, this was disastrous. This tasted more like a 1/2 Zinfandel, 1/2 Syrah. The wine was uncorked with minimal bleed. Cherry red stain on the cork. Wine poured with a nice dark black cherry bouquet. The wine had a great nose even from 1-2 feet away. Thought wow, I'm really in for a treat for my $90 investment. Was decanted about an hour before enjoying. Poured a violet color into the glass, clear. Point blank nose in glass was all over the place with fruity goodness with a hint of sweetness. Raspberry jam, fig, vanilla, even some lilac or some kind of floral perfume filled the air. I will give this wine all the points it can collect for the nose it had. The entry was a disaster -- Menage-a-trois generic fruit forward, almost obnoxiously so. No character. This was a medium bodied wine that tried to be a full bodied wine with all the eucalyptus on the tongue trying to mask a fruit bouquet that resembled more of a $20 GSM blend and less of a $90 Napa Cabernet. The wine was elegant in the middle, but a little metallic and still rather alcoholic. The finish was very tannic. Quite a miserable experience. Let's just say that no one at the table was arguing over who was going to get the last 50ml because no one wanted it. I really hope that this wine is just in a weird place right now, but I have a feeling it's not. I have had many a fruit-forward Napa Cab before (cough...Caymus...cough...), and Caymus blows this out of the water for about $20 less. Definite buyer's remorse here, and glad I only have one bottle.
