Dark red. Intense meaty dark fruit, leather, and coffee. Slightly rich berry and black currant flavours and a decent dry finish. Just a bit hollow on the entry.

Funky syrah. Well balanced once the sour note blows off. Takes some time to open up. Dark fruit, sour cherry, loads of funk, spice, menthol, and leather on the nose. Cherry, dark fruit, baking spice, funk, menthol, and wood on the palate. Very well balanced. Somewhere between new and old world in style. I might even give it a 91 but Hubbie says its a 90.

Took quite a while for the typical Syrah notes to develop. Once opened up, loads of barnyard funk on the nose, backed with black fruit and pepper. Medium weight wine with pleasant acidity, and mild tannins. It was good, not as new world as I expected (so I liked it more), but nothing crazy, either. Don't remember $$, but enjoyable enough.

Some tasting notes mention a bacon flavor. That might be right for this wine. The wine seemed almost too rich.
