I don't know what happened to this wine, but not the wine I remember tasting on-site in Napa. This bottle was sour. Had a nice finish, but getting there was rough. Will see how it is on night 2. For tonight, opened something else.

I thought this was a good wine but not one that would merit a 93 rating. It is still young and might need more time to round out the edges. It also had an unusual amount of sediment for Hendry. I prefer both the Block 28 and the Block 7 and 22 Zins to the Primitivo.

A crowd pleasing fruit forward Zinfandel of the ancient Primitivo varietal. Nice aromatics, deep rich color, medium bodied with a smooth mouth feel. Apparently, their #1 seller at the winery tasting room. My second favorite Hendry wine (the fave being block 7 & 22 Zin). Great drinking now (a touch young, unformed), will improve/integrate over next 3 to 5 years.
