Pale, slightly watery color. Very fine bubbles. Bread, wet stone, and saline on the nose. Very unique palate with a nice balance between toasted bread and bright mineral notes, along with a burst of sweetness.
I am not very familiar with vintage Cava, but I've had some great 2002 Champagnes and this came recommended, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I really can't tell if this is at its peak and headed downward or very young and needing many years to mature. A nice bottle, nonetheless.

This is the big boy monster of Gramona. And why not. Get yourself a bottle of $80 Cava. Well, it smells and tastes great. Smells better than the Imperial and the Lustros. As it should.
I hate to say it but it works it out at $80.

Mature nose with baked apple, pastries, vinous. On palate its medium bodied, mouth coating, vinous sensation, rich and fruity. Quite impressive. (92-93)

And there it is, not corked. Yep and even served warm that is pretty darn delicious cava.
X'arello is apparently the white grape with the highest levels of reservatrol. And thus, it very much works for aging.
Macabeo is the muscle, the Pareadella is the flowers (which they don't use) and X'arello is the structure. Power stuff here, delicious too.

So this is the Illustros with three more years of bottle age with just the best vintages being represented.
Battlle is the name of a family who founded Gramona. In the second generation the Battlle lady married the Gramona boy.
It's either corked or reductive.
Corked. We are going to chill another bottle.
