This little bottle of inexpensive wine continues to show well. Sour cherry core with herbal and mint overtones. Lots of fun to see wines like this 10 years out.

I had bought this a few years ago on a reviewer’s advice, which was “put a few bottles away in your cellar and forget about them...once you remember them they will have matured into something far better than you’d expect at this price.”
I agree - this is well balanced, subdued as expected from Coonawarra, a nice red cherry sour finish and otherwise minerality, maybe mint and tea flavours. Big fruit fans need not apply. I triple Vinturied it.
Day 2 this has gotten better. Now beautifully scented and rounder. Could hold longer, but it’s drinking well now.

Crimson red colour. Aroma of leather and light kerosene. Plum, raisin and fig. Tannin dries the tongue but the fruit still comes through. Reasonably smooth wine with average flavour.

spicy nose, heavy tanins, smoky finish. Could use some melloeing.
