A very light-yellow, nearly unwooded Chard whose nose is dominated almost entirely by pear, although some candle-wax and citronella come through in the next few glasses. It's a bit tart on the palate at first, although it settles down after awhile, showing some bracing grapefruit and maybe some sweet peach. There is in general a nice mix of sweet and sour here, and the finish is surprisingly solid, but otherwise this isn't a particularly powerful or riveting wine (although at $13, one wouldn't expect it to be). (Tasted twice, on 4/30/05 and 10/7/05, with consistent notes.)

Beautiful light gold color. Full-bodied with lots of oak and a bit too much acidity. Could benefit from another year or two in the cellar.

The Arroyo is a full-bodied Chard with the oaky, toasty style that many love. Lots of vanilla here. Rich and slightly sweet.
