Still a great wine. Haven’t had a bottle since last summer. It’s slowly developing into a classic aged Chardonnay. The melon and peach flavours are still to the fore with good underlying oak. I need to ration myself to one bottle a year.

Gold with green tints, foretells a wine in only semi-maturity despite clocking up 10 years.
Nose reminded me instantly of the 09 tasted at eight years old. Figgy, ‘prosciutto and melon’, finely ground mealy (ex oak) vestiges. Deep perfume.
Same characters on the vibrant palate that carves a decent groove (to pay homage to the late great Tony Joe White). Upper end of medium bodied. Strong line, fresh still thanks to well tuned fruit and that ultra fine acidity Doug Neale conjured up with these PIV Chardonnays. Soft toasty finish (touch of oak, again?.
Drinking nicely but will age. Perhaps just need to watch the oak doesn’t dry it out, longer term (5-8 plus years).

Drunk over dinner with friends, no TN. Quite a bit of oak on the nose, and clearly a rich, buttery chardonnay, but on the palate it was not over the top and had in fact good freshness. Decanting would have helped, probably. Good, anyway.

Paradise IV new releases tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): A nose of tangerine and nuts with smoky fruit and a silky unctuous palette of nectarine with a juicy finish.
