  A little overpowering, but really tasty. It's a really good wine.

  Small production. My bottle said 871 out of 2400. This is dark in the glass. Surprisingly dark garnet. The nose is cherry, plum, some blackberry. A little heat. The palate is, for a pinot, borderline immense. Robust flavors of cherry, plum, cassis, brambleberry. The tannic and acidic structures are both firm and forthright - this wine has ages to go. A finish that is long and that focuses on the mid and front palate. This is a pinot that almost looks you in the eye and says it wishes it could be a cabernet. It has a robustness to it that makes it a standout. T'was a gift to me, so I have none left, but will grab some should I find it.

  If you like new world pinots, you will probably like everything from Hilliard Bruce. It's just the right amount of fruit, spice and dirt.

  For me, this was the wine of the night. Decanted for a few hours and then rebottled for dinner. Excellent Pinot nose. Very nice feel in the mouth. Just really good.
