I like this a lot better than the 2011. There is some refinement and distinction here that is quite unusual at this price point. It does not follow the mold of modern California value orientated Sauvignon Blanc, as it does not have a flavor base of tangerine and a touch of residual sugar. This one tastes more of a cooler climate aroma and flavor profile with grapefruit and other citrus rather than orchard fruit. Not quite medium bodied. Less fruit forward, and more acid oriented. Very refreshing without being very intense, I guess we refer to that as elegant. The crispness is sneaky. The finish starts to exhibit some honeyed peach, but still enveloped in some serious acidity. I like this style.
