Not really feeling this Pinot. You get the idea it's a serious effort with its resinous texture and an intense candied edge to the ripe, earthy cassis, huckleberry, cola, and licorice notes, but it has an equally intense pickled strawberry flab that detracts from the finished product. Could it be that it's fading? Black tea and spicy oak infuses the finish.

Mature and slightly drying out, but interesting. Notes of black tea and forest floor on the nose, little fruit. Dry on the palate with a very savoury profile. Would not want to keep this much longer, better find my last bottle. Interesting, but probably past its best.

Love Loring Pinot Noir, but this 2011 is definitely fading at this point. A few years ago, it was probably delicious.
I paid only $25 when I excitedly discovered it in the clearance bin of a local gourmet market. Now I can see why.
