Transparent yellow in the glass, streaming bubbles, with restrained aromas of yellow fruit, some toast and yeast. Brighter on the palate with similar fruit flavors, yeast, some wood, a hint of carmel and butterscotch. Young and lacking depth, not much to the finish here -- I think it's simply a good but not a great wine that may improve with either extending aeration or cellar time, but I wouldn't count on it. Probably better to drink now with little expectation. As I often say, you get what you pay for. Heidsieck's wine from the same vintage dwarfs this stuff.
