Still some good tannins and nice fruit, with mature flavors on the finish. It paired very well with meat. Not the most complex, but can hold up a for a couple of years for sure.

In a great place right now. Rich, full-bodied flavors with dark fruits, including cherries and currants, licorice and a touch of tobacco. Well-rounded tannins. Moderately long, smooth finish.
Drink up. I think that this is at its peak.

The nose on this one was pretty pronounced with menthol and bell pepper at first. Decanted 2 hours and much better. The first taste on pop n pour was really tannic...I mean give me a glass of water I'm parched....2 hours later it was pretty smooth. Pleasing finish and a good if not great bottle. I would definitely wait a couple of years or just decant for 2-3 hours before enjoying. Probably lean towards waiting as the upside versus drinking now is probably worth the gamble.

Slow Oxed 3 hours prior to consumption. Deep ruby color leads to a nose of cassis, blackberry and vanilla. Medium full body carries those flavors forward while adding a hint of bell pepper. Finishes with sweet tannin. I did not notice the astringency some tasters have noted. I think this definitely benefits from some air.

Needed air but I think it is fading. Still good, not great. Would drink sooner than later.
