Consumed this wine over appetizers with friends. Dark chocolate, plum skin, black cherry liqueur, blackberry jam, maybe some coffee grounds and menthol. Big and bold on the palate, showing some refined elegance amidst all the brawny tannins and flavors. Balanced acidity, and a fairly long and satisfying finish. Drink now through 2020+.

Average nose. A little flat and weak. This wine has been open for about 3 hours and it has gotten progressively weaker over that time. I think that it has another 5 years at best. Had with a ribeye steak. Glad to clear out room in the cellar for 2014 Bordeaux.
