  • This wine is a mystery. From 2008 to 9, 10, 11, and now 12, this bottle has gone from 145 to 125 to 105 to 95, and now 85 per bottle for current release. This is pretty much counter-intuitive to the rest of the mountain that is getting out of hand (cough, O'Shaughnessy, cough) with their pricing. Wine was enjoyed tonight with dinner and I am very glad that we waited 45 minutes after opening this one to enjoy it. VERY locked up at first. This is actually not your typical Howell Mtn Cab. Poured with a crimson color in the glass. There is some translucency on this wine. The nose is all old world dirty boysenberry and a hint of tar. The entry was black cherry and new saddle leather, the middle with some kind of wildflower note along with limestone that finished the wine on a black cherry core, little pepper, but with a hint of vegetation. The wine is medium to full bodied offering. I am not sure what the longevity of this one is, but I am guessing 2018/19 at the most. Still very enjoyable with dinner!

  • Decanted for about 4 hours, and drank over another 4. Excellent cab, although I probably should have kept it in the cellar for a few more years.

  • Great bottle of cab. About six serious wine drinkers got to taste it. All agreed that it is really good. Great Howell Mountain fruit You can see where the winemaker hand crafted this wine. Based on production amount there was one barrel of wine made. Grab some if you can.

  • Great Howell Mountain cab. Enjoyed it with a few friends. Try one of these if you can find them in your market.

  • This it the third bottle I have drank of this vintage I was with 3 other big wine drinkers. We paired it with a 2005 Chateuau Montelana, 2008 Cakebread Dancing Bear and a 2007 Cakebread Syrah. The other three people loved the Bjorn and we all agreed to get a case and split it four ways. Super smooth! The start and finish is so smooth and consistent throughout the wine. I have had a lot of 2009s and highly suggest you try one of these while they are still available. Howell Mountain fruit is special and making great cabs right now.
