  • P&P; outstanding Syrah, very smooth and silky texture, with gobs of blackberry fruit, spice and a rich, chocolatey finish. I could drink this all night! Showing very little signs of age and should continue to drink well for another half-decade, if not longer. Drink now - 2029.

  • Vin robe foncée. Très beau vin structuré, sur les fruits noirs, datte, olive, épice et boisé. Long en bouche, complexe, tannin assoupli. Un vin de méditation. À boire

  • popped and poured through aerator, dark and brooding, showing no signs it is 13 years old. Had half bottle first night, second night it is liquid silk, smooth integrated, really nice wine and very enjoyable

  • Enjoyable wine, though definitely on the hotter side of what I enjoy.

Decanted for sediment and enjoyed over three hours. No trouble with the cork at all.

Extremely dark ruby color, little sign of the age in the color. Vaguely viscous.

Nose with dark fruits, prune and plum predominant. Relatively little of the savory notes I often associate with Washington Syrah.

On the palate it is still pretty lively despite the age. High alcohol is clear but well balanced by the tannin. Expected this to feel older than it does.

I’m more of a fan of the savory syrahs, but this is a good example of a fruit forward riper style. Would drink again but maybe not seek out at the price.

  • Not giving this a number, but if I did, would be a 93.
Prelude - cork disintegrated, even with the combination of the key and the Ah So. Had to decant via a sieve.
This wine was so dark and brooding that I was afraid something could be wrong - particularly given the cork situation.
Decant of an hour. Then left it for another hour. Frankly, the second half was better on day 2.
V - Murky, both deep ruby and significant meniscus was garnet.
N - Minimal fruit, lots of savory. Olive, forest soil, smoked meats, leather and tar. Maybe a hint of plum and olive.
P - Dark, old fruit, not stewed, but old. Plum, blueberry, blackberry and olive. Soil still present.

I actually coravin'd the 10 just because I need to compare at this point. Very different. Both wine auction purchases.
