Spectacular. Lightly madeirized, some lovely caramel flavors and a whiff of funk over still powerful ‘96 fruit. Grateful to be able to open this bottle to share with friends!

SLDS March 2021: Autolytic, earth, honey and wax. Quite fresh on the palate with the honeyed fruit lifted by excellent acidity. Right in the zone for drinking now.

12% alcohol. Nowadays the blend is PN 50%, C 50%, but I am not sure if it was the same 24 years ago. Very pale gold. The fizz looks a bit anaemic in the glass but it explodes nicely in the mouth with extra fine bubbles. The nose is lemony with a slight note of evolution. Similar in the mouth, very refreshing but not much depth; elegant but not distinctive. This must rank as a disappointment given the age of the bottle and the highly rated vintage. Not a repeat purchase. A very easy pass in fact.

from 375. My last of these, and probably starting on the downslope, but complex, sophisticated, and a treat.

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass, brief note. Lemon and apple with toasted baguette. Good+ length, ok concentration. Time to drink up if this bottle is representative.
