60% new oak reaches out and grabs you by the nostrils straight away, but after some time decanting and swirling you land on plummy, blackberry, other dark fruits, and cocoa. Similar palate, with some added herbal components. It has has spicy acidity on the finish, and with gum coating resolved tannins lurking behind the scenes.
Paired with a prime rib that was smoked BBQ style for 3 hours.
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petite Sirah, 3% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc

This one took a long time to open up and blow off. It is at the end of its drinking window, drink up if you have any and aerate and decant for a long time to fully enjoy.

If your remaining bottles haven't been kept in optimal conditions I'd suggest drinking ASAP. The last bottles of this wine which I thought were outstanding less than two years ago has denigrated considerably.
