Burnt alcohol and stewed fruits. Raspberries are there in the background but there is a heaviness, dark brooding finish that dominates. I loved this young but unfortunately time has not served it well. Improved over time so perhaps needs a long, decent decant.

Over an hour decant. Dark garnet in colour; nose of spicy red licorice with some stewed plums and raspberries. On the palate, there are a mix of licorice, blackberries, cassis, ripe cherries, and garrigue; hot. Medium bodied with a medium hot finish. Did I mentioned that this packs some heat?

Took 3 or 4 glasses for the alcohol to burn off, but once it did, raspberries and soft tannins came through. Decent but given my earlier tasting note, suspect this was more of a drink young wine.

Decanted for 8 hours. Black liquorice, blue berries. Rich amd opulent. Long finish. Enjoyed but preferred in its youth.
