Undrinkable, but with no discernible flaw, so I can only conclude that this is just a terrible wine. Supposedly unoaked, there's a harsh oak-like influence on the attack paired with biting acidity before leading to a completely hollow midpalate and a really bad, sour milk finish. For $5, I wasn't expecting too much but this didn't even come close to delivering on very low expectations.

On the nose there's smoke, pears, toffee & ripe apples ~ On the palate it's full bodied with lots of oak influence but still lively with flavors of butterscotch, lemon & toast ~ Nicely balanced, great QPR

Initially quite reduced, but with air this dissipated. Pear notes dominate, but some citrus and mineral notes are present. Very fresh, with lots of tart acidity. Lacks depth and length, but a pretty decent QPR if you like the lean style.

Real French Chardonnay for about 10 bucks, not bad. Nothing special, but very clean and well made. Seems like 2011 is a good vintage for this wine. Unmistakably French by the nose of wet shale, citrus, apricot skin, and honeysuckle. Earthy and mineral laced, understated, pear, lemon, and other citrus as only the French can do. Very well balanced acidity. A minimum of interfering, hard to describe secondary flavors. Seems a little richer and less bitter than past vintages. Quite young, there is grainy feel on the finish that will most likely age out.

Pear, pineapple and just a hint of oak on the palate lead to a short, crisp finish; fairly simplistic although decent for the price
