  • I am not a big fan of Chardonnay in general and this bottle was 6 years old when I opened it - was expecting a disappointment and ready to flush it down the sink. Big surprise - I liked it a lot - deep yellow color, fruits still there, and an aftertaste with hint of burned almonds. Louis Latour did a great job here and I will get some more recent years to enjoy. Still one bottle 2006 left, I won't wait too long as it probably won't last another year being enjoyable.

  • Opened for cooking, tasted for fun. Good cheap large party wine. Refreshing sweet chardonnay with just enough tartness to keep it fresh.

  • Served at the Metropolitan Club at a dinner celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Medical Center. A good basic chardonnay which was better than I expect at a large dinner event. Nose was subdued with a hint of citrus. The palate was a mix of butter, chardonnay grape, moderate acidity with a bit of slate minerals, and a surprising light tangerine flavor in the background with a bit of vanilla. Winesearcher shows that this wine is available in the $7 to $9 range at a lot of places and it is a good wine at that price. Much better than the nondescript CDR they were serving as a red wine which deserved about a 79.
