  • - Crimsom color - Nose of ripe raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries, with more than a whiff of alcohol. Lots of acidity on the palate, with juicy strawberry notes. This was a nice complement to spaghetti and meatballs. This would rate much higher if the alcohol wasn't so prominent. As-is, this is an enjoyable, easy-drinking wine for when you don't want something more serious.

  • Barbera is the grape and the region.
Sight: Raspberry, and small halo. Bright, not rusty. Slightly syrupy. Good viscosity, higher alcohol. Coats the glass and drips slowly. Or could have residual sugar.
Nose: Alcoholy, slightly hot. Powerful nose, youthful. Very small hint of oak.
Palate: Dry, Light to Medium Body, More earthy.
Finish: Initial attack is powerful, mellows too quickly for a clean finish.
