Rich, full flavoured red packed with sweet damson, black cherry and brambly fruit flavours plus liquorice and leather elements. Lengthy fruit driven flavours add extra dimension, Lovely wine.

Deep, blackish purple colour. Rich spicy bouquet followed by a palate of rich black cherry and bilberry flavours with a sweet element and great lengthy finish. Very impressive wine.

Blind Tasting - New World Syrah and Red Blends; 1/17/2013-1/23/2013 (Woodley Park - Washington, DC): SRP: Unknown. Aromatically, this is dark and brooding, with fig, prune juice and boysenberry. Medium tannins, evident alcohol and a whole lot of toast on the palate. There’s a tangy, sour cherry aspect to the darker, more extracted fruit. Despite the alcohol and the toast, the midpalate lacks depth and secondary flavors. Juicy cherries and oak stave flavors linger on the finish.

Far more restrained, feminine, & lithe than I had expected. A pleasant quaff, but not much more, unfortunately.
