Cream, vanilla, blackcurrant, slight herbaceous with spice notes followed by cedar and a slightly odd fishy aroma. On the palate the wine is slightly green/unripe tight with aniseed, tannin underpinned by cream and vanilla. The blackcurrant fruit pops it's head above the tannic waves momentarily like a drowning man making one last thrust above the surface. There is a bit of alcohol warmth that intrudes on the finish as well. I have concerns about the warmth and the slight green notes. it needs a lot of time...and the odds may be a little long...

With 8 years cellaring this wine is drinking well. Lots of tannin and needs a decent decant to bring out the underlying flavour.
