Blackish purplish red in appearance with a vibrant nose of raspberries, cherries, cranberries, red plums with a bit of methol which makes it very appealing. The flavor components of this Margaret Valley beauty includes ripe red fruits, menthol, damp musty wood, coriander seeds, with an amazing smooth, dry, cedary and persistent finish. A very nice Aussie Bordeaux blend. Very intriging and lively wine.

Poured straight from the bottle, this wine improved in the glass and could have done with some time in a decanter. Dark, purple in colour. Lots of dark berries and hints of grass in both the bouquet and on the palette which is wonderfully balanced by abundant tannins and a note of oak. A long finish that evolved from a delightful tannin bitterness to sweet jammy fruits.

Bacchus Wine merchants trade tasting (Intercontinental hotel, Macquarie Street, Sydney): Herbaceous notes over slightly jammy blackcurrant conserve and some cedar notes and a slightly burnt/charred quality. In the mouth there is the herbaceousness, a cassis quality, very slight salt spray, medium plus body and tannin. Good. It's the first wine I've had for a while that sits between the stools of simple and complex as well as handling ripe and more green fruit well.

Dark cassis. A very competent Bordeaux-styled wine with some herbal intensity.
