  • Under screwcap. Old ring gold colour. On bouquet a touch of turpentine followed by limes, preserved lemons, baking spices, beeswax, bauxite and yellow apples. Quite aromatically complex. On palate, gently evolved with nicely balanced acidity and softly oxidized, developed elements. Lime juice, crystallised lemons and other preserved fruits, pears, honeycomb and apricots. A backbone of chalky minerals. Lovely, silky texture. The residual sugar is still there but its seamless and well integrated. Alcohol low (8.5% ABV). Quite long. Probably now in its optimal drinking window but no hurry needed to consume. A high quality Auslese-style Riesling.

  • Greenish straw colour. An attractive nose of mixed minerals and river boulders. Aromas of lime juice, apple, greengage and honey, with a little turpentine. A sweet entry to the palate, but offset by racy acids and chalky minerality. Well balanced and elegant, with citric flavours with pears and other orchard fruit and a touch of Manuka honey. There is a flavour element reminiscent of a fine Chablis like water from a pure, glacier fed mountain stream. Long crystalline, glycerol finish. Still quite young, and slightly raw, it will improve over the next 5-10 years.
