  lovely bouquet of cherry with a slight hint of cinnamon or nutmeg; the wine is a pale red yet medium bodied, with a surprising plushness on the palate. no noticeable tannins. the wine needs a little more acidity or minerality to balance everything out (the garagiste description oversells that aspect of the wine), but it's still a very solid, satisfying effort. (fyi, the bottle i opened last night had slight leakage around the cork; the wine didn't taste off but it a secondary element that i wouldn't expect in a 2003 pinot)
