  • Pale green color with lemon yellow highlights. Rich, open nose with aromas of juicy pear, some green and yellow apple, a little lemony citrus fruit and nice undertones of white pepper spice and stony minerality. Very focused, bright and structured palate with light-to-medium body. Vibrant, intense and almost bone dry flavors of ripe pear, some tropical fruits, a little apple purée and a nice, robust undercurrent of white pepper spice. The wine is quite high in acidity and gets support from the slightest touch of spritz, that blows away with some air time. Long, bright and acid-driven finish with flavors of tart, lemony citrus fruit, quinine bitterness, some white pepper and a hint of sweeter apple.

Although not the most complex, concentrated or sophisticated Grüner Veltliner, this one is still really stunning stuff - mainly with its remarkable balance of ripe fruit and taut, acid-driven structure. This wine really shows balance that is hard to find even in more expensive wines, let alone wines at this price point! Really reliable stuff, apparently no matter the vintage. At only 9,51€ this wine shows unsurpassable value.
