Drank over three days. Deep lemon to pale gold in the glass. This instantly struck me as white Burgundy open opening given the unmistakable scent of lemon curd jumping from the glass. Beyond this there’s little more to be found aromatically baring a touch of white pepper. Above all this is about structure and texture with a phenolic bitterness helping cut through the residual sugar in this broader, fuller, richer style of Grüner, which is layered and inviting. As a side note by the third day the wine had developed a tropical edge both aromatically and in terms of favour profile. The tension was also somewhat lost by this point.

OK so we're still in the fruit salad realm, but this is a good one! Some smoke to go along with the sweet grapey and tropical notes. Lime, passion fruit: concentrated and as an acidity freak I'd love some more cut but overall it's really good

For lunch with Wiener Schnitzel with my friend Collector 1855. I really like this. Deep, pretty rich, but also nicely balanced, this is showing notes of citrus, ripe apple, some orange zest, also some musky mineral note (like oystershell) and a touch of pepper. It's medium-full bodied, with excellent persistence, it has medium-high acidity and a long, pretty complex finish. Not surprisingly, this could use a few more years to add conplexity. Very good GrüVe from this great producer and excellent microclimate/Ried. (93+)

peach, melon, apricot, lemon, with some minerality on the finish.

Off restaurant list. Rich and ripe, very aromatic and long. Musky mineralic finish. On the limit of richness for me.
