Blackberry, plum, and baking spice on the nose. Perhaps a bit of oak as well. Medium bodied but could use a bit more of a backbone on which to hang the primarily black fruit flavors. Long and warming finish.
Definitely better than the last time I tasted it. It may be in a bit of a down phase, or it could have peaked already. If I had to guess, I'd say the former.

A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 11% Malbec and 11% Petit Verdot, this deep-to-opaque ruby wine is refreshing and deftly balanced. Open-textured and fruit-forward, it leads with aromas of cassis, Bing cherry, black tea and violets. The wine is medium-to-full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and medium sweet tannins. Despite being listed as 14.6%, the alcohol is very well-integrated. The flavors mirror the nose and persist throughout a solid middle. The wine has fine length and is clearly very well-made. It should hold up well over the next 6-8 years. Drink now-2021.

I am glad I waited for this one. It opened up nicely and is tasting great now. Deep notes of dark fruit, even smoky at times.

A bit more approachable than the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. It is an interesting and tasty blend. The Petit Verdot stands out.

Exploring the Walla Walla Valley; 5/24/2013-5/27/2013 (Walla Walla, WA): Patit Creek's premier blend features red currant, plum, and earth on the nose, followed by similar flavors. The long finish is quite warming from the alcohol. Needs some time still.
